Why are you offering both types of tests?
While Rapid Antigen tests provide results more quickly, they are not accepted by all countries as a valid test for entry. As such, RT-PCR tests, the gold standard in COVID-19 laboratory testing, are offered as well. Passengers will have to check with their destination country for authorized tests prior to booking a test with us. We suggest starting with this interactive map on the Sherpa website. We don’t maintain this website, so we recommend confirming these requirements with official government resources provided by the country you plan to travel to. Switch Health and Toronto Pearson International Airport are not responsible for ensuring travelers book the correct test or perform their test within the appropriate timeline.

What happens if I get a positive result?
If your Rapid Antigen test results positive, you must self-isolate immediately and contact your local COVID-19 assessment centre to receive an RT-PCR test. We do not perform on-site RT-PCR tests for patients who have received a positive Rapid Antigen test result. Switch Health is not responsible for any travel costs associated with a positive result such as flight, hotel cancellations or rebooking fees.
What happens if I get an inconclusive?
If your result comes back inconclusive, you will be referred to the nearest COVID-19 assessment centre, where you will need to take another test. This may result in travel interruptions. Switch Health is not responsible for travel costs associated with inconclusive test results. Public Health centres offer COVID-19 tests free of cost. If you choose to get re-tested with Switch Health, additional costs will apply.
